Nick Lindeback speaks on finding satisfaction in this life, and what truly fulfills us. The tension and yearning of Isaiah 64 is met by the promise of Isaiah 65. This sermon recognises our pain and longing, pointing forward to God’s perfect promise. This sermon is part of the Isaiah “Will God help his people” sermon series, and was given at Lower Mountains Anglican Church, Glenbrook Evening service.
What is the value of a promise? For one, a promise can give direction as you look forward to the fulfillment of the promise. And as such it gives purpose to how we conduct ourselves as we move closer to the day that the promise is fulfilled. God’s people Israel acted on the strength of the promise that they would be delivered into a new and good land – a home. Joshua leads them by the hand of God – home. In our Bible talks, we are looking at the extraordinary book of Joshua – a book of promise and purpose. A book that points us forward to the fulfillment of the gospel promise, that in Jesus we will delivered – home. In the meantime, it gives us a clear purpose.
This talk reviews God’s promise and purpose as the promised land of Israel is divided – the faithful, generous and sovereign God of Israel, who still has a purpose for Caleb and the Levites

How good it would be to have 20/20 vision? So many opportunities open up to you when you can see with clarity. Colossians helps the Christians person to see clearly. And as Colossians is written to a church, the gathering of disciples, it helps to set our sights on what we might be able to do in ministry and mission for the cause of the gospel. The core business of an assembled group of Christians is to fulfil the commission which our Lord gave us – to go out and make disciples.
